GWAR KICKS OFF THE CRACK-A-THON ON SATURDAY APRIL 10th
WITH A FREE ADMISSION PRINT RELEASE PARTY AT MF GALLERY
PERFORMANCES BY SATANIC ROBOT SUPERHEROES DETHRACE,
CHIPPY THE HOMELESS CHIPPOPOTOMUS
AND LIMITED EDITION SLAVE PIT ART PRINTS

As the time between now and the start of GWAR's free web-TV fund-raisingdrive and entertainment extravaganza, the CRACK-A-THON (April 16th-17th), can be now measured in days, so can the space between this moment and theofficial kick-off party be measured in minutes, yet thusly all can agree that both events are coming up soon! So in yet another desperate attempt toexplain what the hell this is all about, welcome to the latest press releasefrom the greatest press releasers this side of the Vatican! GWAR!

In case you have been away panning for marmalade in the lower Congo--
The CRACK-A-THON is GWAR's free webTV show, being broadcast on April 16th-17th, from 7pm-12am, live from the MF Gallery in lovely Brooklyn, New York. Host Oderus Urungus and his co-host, Balsac the Jaws of Death, will be joined bya star-studded list of celebrity (well, sort of...) guests, including Hatebreed lead singer Jamey Jasta, party animal Andrew WK, and mop-wielding super-hero The Toxic Avenger! Completely supported by viewer contributions, viewers will be able to pledge funds via PayPal, in order to not only support Oderus' vicious crack habit, but also begin the domination of theinternet through Slave Pit TV, GWAR's 24-7 webTV channel, debuting this year if you give them enough money!

The madness begins April 10th with a free party and "Slave Print" art show. Gallery owner and GWAR-activist Martina Secondo explains...
"MF Gallery is proud to announce the release of a brand new series of limited edition art prints created by the GWAR / Slave Pit artists. Contrary to popular belief, Intergalactic Space Monsters GWAR are actually made up of a team of artists from Virginia. These artists, working out of The Slave Pit in Richmond, create and build all of GWAR's props and costumes, but they also work on their own paintings, drawings, comic books and many other forms of art."

She continued-
"After exhaustive review, we have selected the best works by GWAR / SlavePit artists such as Dave Brockie, Bob Gorman, Matt Maguire, and Don Drakulich, to create a limited edition set of prints, exclusively for sale at MF Gallery and online through www.MFgallery.net.

"The opening party, on Saturday April 10th from 7-10 pm, will be the first chance ever to see and buy these GWAR Slave Prints. Many of the artists will be present to meet the fans and sign the prints. Additionally, this party will be one of the last chances to reserve a seat for the CRACK-A-THON performances, as seats are going fast. Bask in the presence of living gods, enjoy the fine Slave Print art, and enjoy some very special musical performances by Satanic Superhero Robots, DETHRACE and Chippy the Homeless Chippopotamus, another side project of GWAR's front man Dave Brockie.

One more time-- the CRACK-A-THON is a brand new piece of performance art: GWAR's very own variety show- a twisted version of The Jerry Lewis MS Telethon or the Carol Burnett Show, except with crack...lots of crack. It will be hosted by Oderus Urungus and co-hosted by Balsac The Jaws Of Death. CRACK-A-THON will feature interviews with celebrities from the art and music world, (Such as Andrew W.K., Jamey Jasta, frontman of the punk-metal band Hatebreed and more recently Kingdom of Sorrow, Lloyd Kaufman of Troma, the legendary Jimmy Gestapo from the band Murphy's Law, Mecronos from the band DETHRACE, NYC artists Joe Simko and Tara McPherson and many many more!) Grand Guignol-style skits, footage of Oderus roaming the streets of NYC, GWAR P.S.A.'s and more depravity as Oderus begs for your money to help payoff his gigantic crack bill! The CRACK-A-THON will be broadcast online for FREE at www.crackathon.tv

GWAR’S CRACK-A-THON IS ON!!!

MF GALLERY: 213 Bond St. Brooklyn, NY 11217

Kickoff Party: Saturday April 10th 7-10pm
LIVE Crack-A-Thon: Friday April 16th & Saturday April 17th

GWAR is staging their first CRACK-A-THON April 16th and 17th at the MF Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. Starting at 7:00 pm on April 16th, Oderus, joined by his co-host and band mate, Balsac the Jaws of Death, will star in GWAR's very own variety show which will be broadcast free of charge to anybody with an internet connection.

In the tradition of "The Carol Burnett Show" or the Jerry Lewis MS telethon, Oderus will attempt to entertain and milk the viewing audience for every penny they have while presenting an assortment of guests that glitteringly represent the sub-middle-upper-lower strata of entertainments elite!

This star-choked assault marks Oderus' last-ditch attempt to raise funds in order to pay off his considerable crack-debt, owed to GWAR manager and underworld tyrant, Sleazy P. Martini, who had the following to say about the matter:
"Oderus' crack debt makes the U.S. federal deficit look like fucking lunch money. If he wants to continue to "hook-up on the cook-up" then I need to see some cash."
He continued: "If Oderus is unable to "lock- up on the rock-up" he gets violent, nasty, and confused, even more so than normal. So giving money to Oderus for crack isn't just a nice thing to do, it's also saving the human race from annihilation! So if the human race wants to survive they need to pony up."

KICKOFF PARTY: Saturday April 10th, 2010 from 7 to 10 pm.
Meet the artists and buy some GWAR original artwork and prints.
Admission is free and open to all ages. Refreshments will be served.

GWAR TO STAGE FIRST ANNUAL “CRACK-A-THON”
Oderus Urungus, lead singer of GWAR, to host star-studded fund-raising event

Kickoff Party: Saturday April 10th 7-10pm

MF GALLERY: 213 Bond St. Brooklyn, NY 11217

In an announcement given to a “bunch of penguins”, from the bowels of their Antarctic fortress, the worlds sickest band, the mighty GWAR, has announced the continuation of their 25th Anniversary with a public event of colossal proportion—The Crack-a-Thon!

“We are trying to raise money for the kids…not just muscular dystrophy, but retards as well, all kinds of fucked-up freaks,” said Oderus.

The event will kickoff on April 10th, 2010 at the notorious MF Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. The weeklong debauchery will be broadcast live on the World Wide Web, and anybody with internet access will be able to view the gala event free of charge. Viewers will be able to pledge funds via a website, (To be announced later- check www.MFgallery.net for details.) as powerful computers illegally drain your bank account. Rumors that any money raised will actually be used to pay off Oderus’s crack debt were immediately confirmed.

Said Sleazy P. Martini, reached for comment at his Jersey City headquarters, “Oderus is completely wasted and really has no concept of money, instead he prizes things like little pieces of rope or dead dogs…and dead dogs don’t pay the bills!”

“The boys and me wanna give something back to the community, you know, something besides AIDS…”

After the kickoff party on April 10th, there will be a week of intense preparation, as the MF Gallery is transformed into Slave Pit TV central, and Oderus is set loose on the streets of N.Y.C. ! His atrocities will be carefully documented and broadcast during the Crack-a-Thon, which will commence on Friday April 16th, 2010. Live web cams will broadcast all the action from the gallery as slaves desperately prepare for the most stupendous entertainment event since Bud Dywers very public suicide!

The Crack-a-Thon will begin on Friday April 16th and will go as long as it takes to pay off Oderus’s bill, or he gets bored and leaves, whatever comes first. The public is invited to be our studio audience, and should contact MF Gallery for information on how to reserve a seat in the Crack-a-Thon audience.
Oderus will be joined by band mate Balsac, the Jaws of Death, who will serve as band leader and comic foil.

“I really don’t know why I demean myself by associating with him,” said the metal-faced horror, "but it will be fun watching him fail.”

The rumored list of guests scheduled to appear include Tiger Woods, God, and Carmen Electra’s torso, though this was subject to change. Confirmed is the shadowy underground performance troupe, the F-Minus Art Players, led by the sewer-dwelling playwright and art-fag Anton Reemcobb, who are slated to perform some of their shockingly neo-dada-esque bullshit theatre. Also confirmed are cybernetic musical guests DETHRACE, among others.

Look for a full listing on www.MFgallery.net of all the stars appearing on what shall surely go down in history as one the most colossal failures in GWAR history. Prepare yourself for the Crack-a-Thon!!!
