I TRE MERLI RESTAURANT & BAR

In 1985 we opened our first restaurant in New York City, located at 463 West Broadway in SoHo.

The restaurant was the first place in New York City to introduce Ligurian specialties including Pesto and Focaccia, which we did by importing fresh ingredients directly from Italy.

In the 1980's the place was known also for its crazy bar scene, hosting huge parties with art stars and celebrities such as Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground.
One time, the whole space was filled with truckloads of sand and a full sized above ground pool for a "beach party"! Late at night, motorcycles would sometimes drive in off the street and do loops around the restaurant's spacious ground floor.

In the 1990's and 2000's, as SoHo became less of an arts district and more of a shopping center, things quieted down a bit, but I Tre Merli remained a beloved destination for both locals and tourists from all over the world.

Then, in 2009, we remodeled the now 29 year old restaurant, giving it a more modern decor, a wood burning pizza oven, and a new menu featuring smaller tapas-like dishes.
