Frank Russo è un artista di Brooklyn, NY, che disegna fumetti da quando aveva 9 anni. La sua arte unisce l'amore per la “trash culture” e la “fast music”, con una grande varietà di stili e forme: fumetto, pittura, toys, sculture e costumi.

Per la sua prima mostra personale in Italia, Frank Russo presenta una nuova serie di quadri in acrilico su legno... mostri colorati e psichedelici... spaventosi e simpatici... teschi, alieni, robot, streghe... immagini pop, legate alla cultura dello skateboard e dei cartoni animati. Tutti questi nuovi pezzi sono stati prodotti durante la sua permanenza a Genova, e sono quindi ispirati dai colori, suoni e personaggi della “Superba”.

Al piano superiore della galleria, resta aperta la collezione semi- permanente di MF Gallery Genova, con opere di piu’ di 20 artisti internazionali del "Pop Surrealism" e "Lowbrow Art".

A New York Artist, co-owner of the new MF Gallery Genova presents
a series of paintings inspired by monsters, skating and 80’s Cartoons.

Frank Russo is an artist from Brooklyn, NY, who has been drawing comic books since the age of nine. His art fuses a life-long love for trash culture and fast music with a wide variety of styles and media such as comics, paintings, toys, props and costumes.

For his first ever solo show in Italy, Frank Russo will present a new series of acrylic paintings on wood… colorful psychedelic monsters… scary and friendly… skulls, aliens, robots, witches… pop images coming out of the world of skateboarding and 1980’s cartoons. All of the works in this show were produced during his stay in Genova, and are therefore inspired by the colors, sounds and characters of the “Suberb City”.

The upstairs floor of the gallery will still be hosting MF Gallery Genova’s semi-permanent collection, featuring works by more than 20 international artists, working in the "Pop Surrealism" / "Lowbrow Art" genre.
